Nexus Guidelines

Under Operation Guidelines of NASA India

Formation of Circles

  1. Circles may be formed based on like-minded individuals sharing common hobbies or interests (e.g., Film-makers Circle, Poetry Circle).
     

  2. A Circle must consist of a minimum number of members as determined by the Chapter's guidelines.

Scope and Limitations:

  1. Autonomy:

    1. Circles have autonomy in planning and conducting events related to their specific interests.

    2. Must align events with the broader goals and values of NEXUS and NASA India.
       

  2. Collaboration:

    1. Circles are encouraged to collaborate with other Circles within the Chapter for joint events or initiatives.

    2. Must maintain communication with the Lead and Co-Lead for coordination.
       

  3. Event Approval:

    1. All events organised by Circles must be approved by the Lead or Co-Lead to ensure alignment with Chapter goals.
       

  4. Membership:

    1. Circles may define their own membership criteria, but it must be open and inclusive to all interested individuals within the Chapter.
       

  5. Chapter Support:

    1. Circles may request logistical or promotional support from the Chapter's leadership for their events.

CIRCLES GUIDELINES

Rules of Chapter

  1. Formation and Recognition:

    1. New Chapters must be formed based on geographic representation and common interests.

    2. Recognition by the Executive Council of NASA India is required for official status.

  2. Leadership Structure:

    1. Each Chapter must have a designated Lead and Co-Lead, appointed by the Executive Council.

    2. Leadership transition should be planned and executed smoothly.

  3. Autonomy and Collaboration:

    1. Chapters operate autonomously within the defined guidelines.

    2. Encourage collaboration with other Chapters for joint events and initiatives.

  4. Membership Criteria:

    1. Membership must be open and inclusive to all individuals within the geographic area represented by the Chapter.

    2. Clearly define any specific criteria for Chapter membership.

  5. Events and Programs:

    1. Plan and execute a variety of events and programs catering to the interests of Chapter members.

    2. Aim for a minimum of five events per term.

  6. Communication Channels:

    1. Utilise designated communication channels for effective and inclusive communication among Chapter members.

    2. Ensure transparency in Chapter activities.

  7. Branding Consistency:

    1. Maintain consistent Nexus branding in all Chapter communications, events, and materials.

    2. Follow the branding guidelines provided by NASA India.

  8. Reporting and Coordination:

    1. Regularly communicate with the Executive Council, providing updates and achievements.

    2. Encourage coordination between Chapters for knowledge sharing and collaborative initiatives.

  9. Inclusivity and Diversity:

    1. Promote an inclusive and diverse environment within the Chapter.

    2. Discourage any form of discrimination based on gender, race, or other factors.

  10. Finances and Budgeting:

    1. Define guidelines for the handling of Chapter finances, including budgeting for events and programs and seek approval from the National Treasurer of NASA India.

    2. Specify any procedures for financial reporting and accountability.

  11. External Collaborations:

    1. Provide guidelines for potential collaborations with external organisations or sponsors, ensuring alignment with Nexus values.

    2. Seek approval from the Executive Council for major collaborations.

  12. Code of Conduct:

    1. Implement a code of conduct that outlines expected behaviour and ethical standards for Chapter members.

    2. Ensure compliance with the code of conduct in all Chapter activities.

  13. Evaluation and Recognition:

    1. Develop a system for evaluating the effectiveness and impact of Chapter activities.

    2. Recognize outstanding Chapters and individuals for their contributions.

  14. Chapter Dissolution:

    1. Define the process for dissolving a Chapter if necessary, including proper documentation and communication to the Headquarters of NASA India

  15. Revision and Review:

    1. Establish a periodic review process for Chapter guidelines, ensuring they remain relevant and aligned with Nexus and NASA India objectives.

CHAPTERS GUIDELINES

These guidelines aim to provide a structured framework for the effective functioning of the Lead and Co-Lead positions within NEXUS, as well as the formation and operation of Circles within Chapters. These guidelines are reviewed periodically to ensure relevance and alignment with the goals of NASA India and NEXUS by the Executive Council.
